Dan,
Thank you for your comment!
I am still moderate each and every of your comment and I am still wondering for how long you are going to post well targeted and manual spam on our website. Keep on trying! 🙂
Great and lovely collection.
i have inspired some of these designs to make my site’s new theme.
Thanks for sharing.
Nice blog with useful and interesting food blog themes. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your feedback!
Food blogging is really popular these days and you really need to have a great design for your blog to make it stand out. On this list we have selected many other themes that are not specifically made for blogging, so you might also check this theme collection that lists only blog themes.
Let me know if you have any question about these themes or any themes that are listed on Colorlib.
Hello, i loved your blog. I am just researching on themes to make my own food blog. I want to be quiet serious about it. I was considering Daily dish pro over genesis framework. After looking at your blog, i was attracted to Pluto food blog theme. It has stunning visual effects. I am confused because Pluto is for casual bloggers and didn’t understand what exactly is casual blogging. Daily dish pro is quiet robust and customizable. What are the differences between pluto and Daily dish pro that I should consider? I tried to look both, but me being an ametuer I didn’t understand. I appreciate your help on this topic
Uj,
Thank you for your comment!
When it comes to blogging themes you have to look for layout and not some specific functionality. The thing is that blog themes are very simile and there aren’t many fancy features such as ones you can find on multipurpose WordPress themes. Blog functionality is entirely based on WordPress core which means that you can create a blog using one theme and always switch to another theme and no content will be lost. For multipurpose themes things are much more complicated because there are plugins involved that are made exclusively for one theme or another.
Just choose the theme that you like from design perspective and it will get the job done with ease.
I hope I didn’t confuse you with my answer. If I did, please let me know if you have any further questions and I’ll be happy to help.
I was confused. i had to read your comment few times to understand. You are saying I should not look at the stunning visual effects to choose my theme. I was thinking of Pluto for its visual effects and it is multi purpose theme. I should not go simply by its visual effects. But choose a theme which offers a specific layout (UI design). Did I understand you correctly?
Uj,
If you want to have those visual effects then go with Pluto theme. I usually like to keep things as simple as possible and avoid fancy visual effects that’s why my favorite blog theme now is this one. But everyone has a different taste and if Pluto is the the right theme for you just go with it. There is no such thing as “best theme” but the one you like the most.
Thanks. Understood. 🙂
Very nice themes. Is there one that will not load a ton of java and stay sleek and fast? It is quite important to me as I tested gogeek plan websites on a siteground server and the sever load time was not good, nginx, memcached or not. The siteground guy wanted me to ping an IP in a console as if not loading content would tell me how well their server is tweaked. All in all very disappointing experience. I mean with WP being so crappy and making so many SQL requests it is not entirely their fault, but still…
So now I stay careful with how lean and not javascrpit bloated a theme is as well. Although all the themes you list are beautiful, how well do they load?
With many thanks,
Layne
Layne,
I tested your website with Pingdom and it loads fairly well for a shared hosting. Of course it lags behind Colorlib but we are paying close to 4 digits a month to host this site and that’s not a fair comparison. But it isn’t slow at all.
For some simpler WordPress food blog themes you might want to check this theme collection.
I found Food & Cook VERY confusing, there’s too many options for customizations. Do you have any suggestions for a simple premium theme that looks great, has recipe uploading functionality, but that doesn’t have 1000 options like F&C?
Henry,
There aren’t that many features for Food & Cook theme as other are on the same level as well. That’s because these themes are very specific and requires some tweaking for each website and that’s where all the theme options comes into the play.
Hi Aigars,
Hope you are doing great 🙂
All the themes are very nice. I am interested in starting a food blog so is there any theme which cost me less around $20-$25 and I would like to know that how much changes I need to make in my blog when I will implement these themes. I don’t have any developer so all the work I will do myself. Can you please help me in this?
One more thing I have purchased a domain name already for that blog.
Great collection of Organic Superfoods themes 🙂 Its lovely!
I wish there were a way for you to get your paid themes out of searches for free themes. This is top of the list and not really understanding why. I see you have free themes but why wouldn’t they load instead of your paid searches when searching for free themes. I see this all the time and it’s really really frustrating. Great themes. NOT AT ALL what I’m looking for though. Kind of a waste of TIME
Thanks for this list. It must have taken ages to compile.
How do you go about researching a list like this? Have you personally trialled each theme?
Thanks,
Jackson, UI Designer
Jackson,
I have used many of these themes myself as well as I know most of the frameworks, libraries, plugins and other things that are common for themes. When I see that theme uses familiar plugins and libraries I already know how this theme will work and what it does. In these cases i just need to check design to see how it is different from the rest. It gets easier and easier as more themes I see and test.
This is very difficult task to find a theme for blog . still searching
Been having a hard time with changing my themes and its a good thing I saw this article. What a big sigh of relief! Thanks for this!
Hello Aigars,
Thank you for sharing this awesome collection of WordPress Themes.
Neptune, Soledad, Meridian Recipes are my personal favourite.
it would be much better for readers, if you add which one is free or paid in title.
Keep updating!!!
Victoria,
Thank you for your feedback! None of these are free themes. If you are looking for free themes you should check this list instead.
Nice collection of themes. Actually I was planning to change my food recipe page theme . Right now my theme doesnt have sticky navigation bar. Can you please tell me what theme would go well with my website. I want sticky bar and widget space in the header to place my ad tag . Also , it should be mobile responsive.
The Voux is the theme you are looking for It is customizable, has sticky navigation and several widget areas for banners.
I bought Neptune as recommended by your site and I am really regret my purchase. I encounter problem to use the theme (related to on how I can create two set of ingredients for a recipe, using a separator as mentioned in their not-so-detailed tutorials). Denish responded to my support ticket but he doesnt really read my problem. He simply reply like if I didnt know how to add ingredient. If you want proof I can share my screenshot. Worst support ever, because of his stupidity.
Tarmizi,
I’m sorry to hear about your terrible experience with Neptune theme. Make sure to leave a review for their item on ThemeForest as currently their theme is rated 4.93/5 with no lower ratings than 4 stars. Adding a negative review there will rise an additional awareness about their support. Your comment here on Colorlib will certainly help as well but another feedback there is more than welcome.
Hi Aigars,
I am pretty good on a computer but am not an expert. I want to build my own food blog with one of the above themes.
I just wonder is WP too advanced eg. do you need to know coding. I have previously built on Wix and Squarespace.
Many thanks,
Eva
Eva,
Coding is not required at all. You can simply follow this guide to get started with your first WordPress website. By the end of the guide you will have a working food blog based on WordPress. Wix and Squarespace is good for small static websites but blog is a dynamic website with a lots of content and these tools fall short on that. WordPress is by far the best option here and it won’t be difficult to create and maintain your own website as several million people have done that before and most of them are very far from coding.
Hi, thank you for sharing this awesome collection.
Are there any other themes for food bloggers?
Lenny,
