Striking, clean and minimal: these are the characteristics of Space, a modern Ajax portfolio website template. Space is also a good fit if you want a single-page website. The clean design showcases all the content you want to share. You can keep the default settings, add your projects, services and other information, and you’re done.

Space comes with a sidebar menu, content that loads on scroll, animated skill bars, testimonials and a working contact form, in a light and a dark theme.

What’s new in 3.0

• Bootstrap 5.3.8 and plain JavaScript, no jQuery.
• A lighter home page: about 2.8 MB before, about 0.96 MB now. Every photo has an AVIF version with the JPG as the fallback.
• No third-party requests at load: Mulish, Roboto Mono and a 4 KB Font Awesome subset are self-hosted, and the contact map loads only when the visitor clicks Show map.
• Dark mode fixes: the theme button works on the inner pages, the saved theme applies before the page is drawn (no white flash), and text that was black on the dark background is readable.
• A working contact form: its fields had no names, so it sent nothing. It now sends through php/send-email.php with validation and a spam trap.
• Accessibility: a skip link, a modal mobile menu that closes with Esc, a visible keyboard focus ring, and text contrast of at least 4.5:1 in both themes.
• Sass sources in scss/ that build the shipped design (the old scss/ folder did not), and a documented npm run build.
