What’s new in 3.0

• Bootstrap 5.3.8 compiled with only the parts the theme uses (41 KB instead of 232 KB of CSS), and no jQuery. Bootstrap’s JavaScript, which no page used, no longer loads.
• Lighter pages: the nine pages together went from 13.45 MB and 422 requests to 5.26 MB and 269 requests.
• Nothing loads from other sites when a page opens: Font Awesome is a self-hosted 7-icon subset, Google Analytics is off until you fill in the GA4 snippet, and the contact map and videos load after a click.
• Working contact and comment forms through php/send-email.php: set your address at the top of the file.
• Accessibility: menu and search controls that work from the keyboard (Esc closes them and focus returns), one h1 per page, a visible focus ring and WCAG AA text contrast.
• Fixed: the audio posts pointed at an MP3 that was not in the download (a sample file now ships), typed search text was black on the black overlay, and the newsletter sent sign-ups to the original author’s Mailchimp list.
• No preloader and no masonry library: the page paints at once, and one stylesheet and one script are built with npm run build.
