Elit is a one-page photography website template with a dark layout, a pink accent and a fixed sidebar menu, built on Bootstrap 5. It has two pages: the portfolio home page and a blog post with comments and a sidebar. The home page has a full-screen parallax hero, a photo grid that opens in a lightbox, a testimonial slider, a biography, a blog list and a contact form, and the menu follows the section you are reading. The layout is responsive and works in all popular web browsers.
What’s new in 3.0
Bootstrap 5.3.8 (the earlier release used Bootstrap 4 and jQuery), compiled from Sass with the original proportions, and plain JavaScript with no jQuery. Swiper 14 runs the testimonial slider, PhotoSwipe the photo lightbox and Jarallax the parallax hero; small built-in modules handle the mobile menu, scroll reveals and the forms. npm run build (Dart Sass and esbuild) compiles the minified stylesheets and script.
Lighter pages: the three pages together went from 6.5 MB and 84 requests to 3.7 MB and 80 requests. Photos have AVIF versions with JPEG fallbacks, real dimensions and lazy loading.
No third-party requests: Quicksand and Oswald are self-hosted, Lucide SVG icons and a small social-logo subset replace two icon fonts (the Twitter bird is now the X logo), and a Google Analytics 4 snippet stays commented out until you add your own ID.
Working forms: the contact and comment forms send through php/send-email.php, with visible labels, validation, a spam trap and an in-page message. The blog search is a single field that filters the posts.
Accessibility: a skip link and a main landmark, one h1 per page, a menu button that opens a keyboard-friendly panel, named icon links, visible focus rings and text colours that meet WCAG AA contrast.
Fixes: new landscape and architecture photos in the grid, working social and menu links, sample posts and comments written for a photographer, unique page titles and descriptions, structured data and a favicon.
