What’s new in 3.0
Bootstrap 5.3.8 compiled from Sass (the old build loaded a trimmed Bootstrap 5.0.0-beta1), and no jQuery: Swiper 14 replaces Owl Carousel and Slick, PhotoSwipe 5 replaces Magnific Popup, and twelve plugins are gone. Build with npm run build.
Lighter pages: the eight pages together went from 13.6 MB and 475 requests to 4.5 MB and 193 requests. Every photo has an AVIF version with the JPG or PNG as the fallback, and the download went from 6.5 MB to 3.7 MB.
No third-party requests: Barlow and Oswald are self-hosted, 3.4 MB of icon fonts are replaced by SVG icons and a social-logo subset, the map (OpenStreetMap, no API key) loads only when the visitor clicks Show map, and Google Analytics is a commented-out snippet.
A working contact form through includes/send-email.php, with validation and an in-page message. Before, it posted to a contact_process.php file that was not included.
Accessibility: a skip link, one h1 per page, names on every icon-only link and button, labelled form fields, a visible keyboard focus ring and WCAG AA text contrast.
Fixed: the mobile menu showed an unstyled grey bar under the header, the back-to-top button showed before any scrolling, and the icons on the elements page drew nothing.
Every page has its own title and description (all were “Construction”), and the demo team, projects and contact details are fictional and fit a construction company.
