Magdesign is a minimal magazine website template that puts content first. Its clean design gives readers a focused reading experience on every device. Use it for any niche, or create a general online magazine.
Magdesign is a Bootstrap 5 template with well-structured HTML code. It includes a sidebar menu, social icons, sliders, a newsletter form, a fresh post layout and a dark mode toggle. Start your magazine with Magdesign instead of from scratch, and share content that grows your community.
Please note: This is a simple Bootstrap template that does not include a CMS or admin dashboard. If you are looking for a beginner-friendly solution, we recommend these WordPress blog themes.
What’s new in 3.0
Swiper 14 replaces Tiny Slider, PhotoSwipe 5 replaces GLightbox, and the menu is an accessible slide-in panel that closes with Esc. Bootstrap’s JavaScript no longer loads, since nothing needs it.
Lighter pages: the eight pages together went from 8.04 MB and 155 requests to 2.04 MB and 75 requests. Photos are AVIF with the JPG as the fallback, and one 158 KB stylesheet replaces 244 KB plus four plugin stylesheets.
No third-party requests: Poppins is self-hosted, the 4.8 MB icon font is replaced by SVG icons and a 1.5 KB social-logo subset, and Google Analytics is a commented-out snippet.
Working contact and newsletter forms through includes/send-email.php and includes/subscribe.php, with validation and in-page messages. Before, they reloaded the page and sent nothing.
Accessibility: WCAG AA text contrast in light and dark mode, names on every icon-only link and the menu button, and a menu that works from the keyboard.
Fixed: returning visitors who chose dark mode saw a flash of the light theme, the dark mode toggle wrapped onto a second line on tablets, and the home and About pages scrolled sideways on phones.
No page-hiding preloader, and npm run build (Dart Sass and esbuild) compiles the Sass into one stylesheet and bundles one script.
