What’s new in 3.0
Bootstrap 5.3.8 (1.0 loaded Bootstrap 4.5) and no jQuery: Swiper 14 replaces Owl Carousel, built-in gallery filters replace Isotope and MixItUp, and the mobile menu is an accessible side panel that closes with Esc. Build with npm run build.
Lighter pages: the home page went from 3.6 MB and 55 requests to 721 KB and 42 requests, and the contact page from 78 requests to 18. Every image has an AVIF version with the JPG or PNG as the fallback, and the logos are SVG.
No third-party requests at load: Raleway and Cormorant Garamond are self-hosted, Font Awesome 4.7 and Elegant Icons are replaced by SVG icons and a 1.3 KB social-logo subset, the contact map (OpenStreetMap, no API key) loads only when the visitor clicks Show map, and the blog video loads only after a click.
Working forms: the request and contact forms send through php/send-email.php and the newsletter forms through php/subscribe.php, with validation, a spam trap and in-page messages.
Accessibility: a skip link, one h1 per page, names on icon-only links and buttons, labelled form fields, a search overlay that works from the keyboard, a visible focus ring and WCAG AA text contrast.
The counters now count up when scrolled into view, and the preloader that hid each page until everything had loaded is gone.
Fixed demo copy: typos are corrected, the blog quote is credited to Elizabeth Gilbert (it was attributed to Audrey Hepburn), and the address, phone, email and partner logos are fictional.
