Whether you’re a professional or amateur photographer, Photon is a photo website template for creating a neat online portfolio. You can also use it to promote your services. Photon is easy to adapt to your needs and preferences.

You can use the design out of the box or add your own branding. The clean, minimal home page comes with overlay sidebar navigation, photo galleries and a contact page with a working form. Connect your site to your social media accounts to reach more people.

What’s new in 3.0

• Bootstrap 5.3.8 and plain JavaScript, no jQuery, with a documented npm run build for the Sass, CSS and JS.
• Lighter pages: the eight pages together went from 16.2 MB and 208 requests to 5.0 MB and 81 requests. All 77 images are AVIF with the JPG as the fallback.
• No third-party requests: the unused Google Fonts link is gone, the icons are one 4.6 KB font (the icon folder was 4.6 MB), and Google Analytics is a commented-out snippet you turn on yourself.
• The gallery lightbox is PhotoSwipe 5, with zoom, arrows, keyboard control, a counter and captions.
• Accessibility: WCAG AA text and button colours (the brand teal is now #147c5d), a skip link, heading levels without gaps, names on icon-only links, and visible focus rings.
• A working contact form handler (includes/send-email.php) with validation, a spam honeypot and success or error messages.
• Fixed: the About page counters now count up when scrolled into view. In 2.0 no script ran them.
