“I’ll eat my d**k on national TV if Bitcoin doesn’t surpass $500k in 3 years.”
Previously I had certain doubts regarding Bitcoin, I genuinely believed (and I still think so) that it’s a pyramid where only the early investors can get all the juice.
But when someone like John McAfee claims to eat his manhood live on national TV I think that it’s time rethink my perception of Bitcoin and make my small investment.
I’m not a pro at “cryptocurrency stuff”, or investments, but I’m good at research, that’s why getting my ass into the area I’ve never dealt with might not be that difficult.
WHAT DOES RESEARCH HAVE IN COMMON WITH WHAT I’M TRYING TO TELL YOU HERE?
From where I sit research equals to blogging.
I’d start my journey, hopefully not a disastrous one, with a blog dedicated to cryptocurrencies.
Once again, blogging is the best way to learn and digest a lot of information in the shortest time span.
Since there’s already a huge number of blogs dedicated to cryptocurrencies you might find it difficult attracting the readership, but you can narrow down blog’s niche to something like a personal challenge, for example: “100 days to become a savvy home-grown cryptocurrency investor”, this might definitely work.
Day by day you’ll be sharing things you have learned about cryptocurrencies, things you are about to learn, how much money you’ve invested, and how much money you’ve earned or lost.
People are fond of stuff like that, especially if you show them a Camaro you’ve bought on 101st day of your challenge.
Someone’s success usually arouses emotions like envy or hatred, especially when you already drive a Camaro, and 100 days ago all you had is a public transport card.
Now let’s see what are your options in terms of building a cryptocurrency blog.
I’ve spent around 6 hours trying to find a worthy WordPress theme. I have explored around 60 theme demos of cryptocurrency blogs, and finally, I came across the Crypton theme.
Basically, it’s a WordPress theme that can be used for a mining hardware blog, cryptocurrencies reviews blog, mining equipment store, or anything else you want it to be.
What Makes Crypton Theme Special?
A fully customizable home page where you can present your articles anyhow you want. The first thing user sees when home page loads is the Recent news widget.
It’s a place for the most burning topics from your blog, presented here via the category Hot updates.
Right under this widget comes another posts widget where blog posts are displayed via category Currency market.
The thing I liked the most is the Featured post widget, this is what it looks like.
A really attractive way of pointing out blog posts that need extra attention of the readers.
Since this template is built using Visual Composer you have unlimited options in terms of its customization.
The sidebar of the Crypton theme contains a thing that any cryptocurrency investor should keep his eyes on daily and nightly it’s the Exchange rate widget.
Being powered by Cryptocurrency All-in-One plugin it delivers up-to-date exchange rates to your website or blog powered by WordPress.
With this plugin, you can display actual exchange rates using a set of shortcodes like:
[allcurrencies] – to display all cryptocurrencies
[currencygraph currency1=”btc” currency2=”usd”] – to display graphs, in this case BTC vs USD.
And so on.
To display the widget just copy and paste the shortcode either into the page/post body or into the text widget area.
There’s nothing bad in accepting donations, when your readers express interest in the content you provide them with you can ask for donations that will be used to pay for blog hosting and maintenance.
With the Crypton theme you can accept donation via handy widget you can find in the sidebar, on the theme’s demo.
When they cliсk Make Donations, users will be redirected to the payment page where they can pay with PayPal.
You can set donation goals that are good for presenting your blog’s needs visually.
The Crypton theme has a built-in WooCommerce store, at the bottom of the home page there’s a widget with demo items that are “available” in the inventory.
What you don’t see on the demo immediately is that Crypton will get three additional skins in the next update.
So if you get this theme right now, you will get new skins for free. Basically, a skin is equal to another theme, so you’re about to get three themes for free.
As for me, that’s a fair deal.
The Crypton theme is compatible with the following WordPress plugins.
- Revolution Slider
- Visual Composer
- Visual Composer extensions bundle
- Essential Grid
- Cryptocurrency All-in-One
- M Chart
- ThemeREX Donations
- MailChimp for WP
- Instagram Feed
- ThemeREX Addons
Before you install any other you’re recommended to test them on a beta version of your website, just to be sure that some plugin won’t break your website. It’s much better to break beta, but not the production version of your website.
To have a beta, you need to create a subdomain in your Cpanel, call it something like beta.yourdoamin.com and create there a copy of your live website (with plugins, content, and theme.)
Over to You
After you create a cryptocurrency blog or website, don’t forget to share your progress or success stories in the comments.
Good luck 😉
