  3. Hello Aigars,
Thank you so much for this stunning theme collection. All themes are nice for bookstores. Hopefully they will work as good as they are advertised.

      themes looks like nice one

  5. Peter Parker says:

    Beautiful Themes 🙂

  6. Hello Aigars, my name is David and I really love the themes that you outlisted.
I don’t know if you also used a special theme to snap your personal photo because it really looks good. Please i would like to create a website with a wordpress theme after the beauty of gsmarena.com, but i would like to review and market not just phones but softwares also for clickbank and amazon as an affiliate marketer.
I want my site up and running by the end of July 2015.
    Thanks bro.

    1. David Watkinson says:

Hello David, this is David 🙂
We have been selling on Clickbank for a number of years and found that there was no solid solution to be able to integrate it directly with our ecommerce system.
We created a plugin for WordPress called WooClick which fully integrates Clickbank with WooCommerce, securing your digital product and only delivering it to customers who have a confirmed payment (via the Clickbank IPN). WooClick also creates an account for each customer so that you can send them updates and sell them future products.
You can view full details for WooClick here: [link removed]

    2. David,

Above listed themes are made for bookstores, so they might not be as flexible when selling other products such as smartphones. If you are looking to build eStore or affiliate type website then you should look into themes that are specially created for this purpose. Here are some awesome examples https://colorlib.com/wp/best-ecommerce-wordpress-themes/

This is a fantastic list of bookstore themes for WooCommerce.
You always do such a great job. After seeing so many of your lists, we actually added your site to our Google Adwords campaign.

Keep up the great work, it’s very much appreciated.

    1. David,

AdWords is not the most effective advertising option on Colorlib. It works as a placeholder for much bigger things.

  8. Hi Aigars,
Thanks for sharing these amazing WP Themes. All themes looks stylish and perfect for book store.

  9. Hello, can you recommend a WP theme which publishes books online so readers can read them chapter by chapter? Essentially, I want readers to be able to read books online, rate them, etc. Thanks

    1. Debbie,

Unfortunately, none of themes does allow to read books online without download. However, you can try combine these themes with services such as Scribd or other. It will still be your website but just embed those books from Scribd on your website and you are good to go. Otherwise you will have to hire a developer to build a custom platform for you and it is not going to be cheap for so complex functionality.

      1. OK thanks for the reply. That’s too bad, I’ll continue the search. Cheers

        1. Debbie,

If you are going to continue your research and try to look for theme that supports reading functionality then you can give up right away and instead research a way how you can achieve it with plugins and 3rd party services. There are no themes ever released with this kind of functionality but this kind of setup can be done.

  10. Thao Ngan says:

I think this list lack of some great online bookstore WordPress theme, such as: Bebo, Bookish

    1. Thao,

Bookish theme used to be listed here but since it wasn’t updated for more than year we removed it. I see that there is an update for this theme and we could reconsider listing it. We keep our lists updated all the time and if we see that theme is no longer maintained we remove it to give the most accurate suggestions to four our readers.

  11. Tracy Dias says:

They’re all so amazing. However, 2016 is coming, will you update the list?

    1. Tracy,

This list will be updated in January. Make sure to subscribe to get the latest updates.

      1. Tracy Dias says:

        I already subscribed, thanks Aigars

  12. Seems all of these themes are displaying desk top views as primary. What themes do you feel are best for publishers where the first priority is mobile appearance? This would mean book title on top, one big cover photo under the title, maybe 2 or 3 thumbnail images under that, then text in a narrow column below…as content appears best on iPhones for example.

    1. Marty,

All of these themes are mobile friendly and responsive therefore will work well on any mobile device.

  13. Julie Halligan says:

Hello David, I have looked at these wordpress sites and what you have to say about them, and I am hoping you can help with selection. I am a Book Reviewer for a magazine in my country, I used to also sell secondhand/collectible books some years ago (still have stock) and now I am wanting to set up a book site to not only feature my reviews (with affiliate links) but also list the collectible stock I have to sell…which would be the better option from those you have listed above that would suit my ‘needs’.
    many thanks
    Julie

  14. Please i want to build an online ebook store , did i need divi, woocommerse and book store plugins

    1. Daniel,

You can use Divi for that. WooCommerce is a free plugin which means that you need to pay only for theme itself.

  15. is their any other theme i like bebo but its too conjusted

    1. Vihal,

You don’t need to use all of the functionality that Bebo offers. Things that you see on theme theme are completely optional and are there to showcase theme functionality. You can choose what you want to use on your website and disable/remove the rest.

  16. I am interested in Brown Theme.
How do you recommend me to do in order to include payment GW which receives card payments AND mechanism for automatic waterstamping of the book, which is in PDF format.

    1. Karl,

All themes support PayPal which means that you can accept both PayPal payments and card payments processed via PayPal. Make sure to format and protect your PDF file prior to uploading to your website for sale. Themes are going to store them and release for download after the purchase but they are not going to add andy waterstamping or anything like that. That’s your own responsibility.

  17. Thanks for sharing. I’ll check them out. I’ve used bookstore it’s okish.

  18. Dear Aigar.
I also considered that Bebo theme it is very beautiful so I bought it and I tried to use it, and I discovered that It has a lot of bugs, a lot of small problem that make it useless. I can sent you screenshot with this annoying little problems that make this beautiful theme useless. Also the customer support did not help my, so now I lost my money, lost my confidence in the maker of Bebo theme and I need to use another theme for an bookstore but also I don’t know if other recommendation from your list will have bugs and no useful support (like the Bebo theme)
What is yours advice for me in this situation?

    1. Florin,

I am sorry to hear about your experience. However, with information you have provided there is not much I can help you with. What bug it was? Did you report it properly to developers? Did it lack some functionality? What features do you need and so on. Right now you are complaining in a very broad terms and there is not much I can help with unless you disclose all the details.
Bebo is a great theme but it might now be for everyone, so make sure to look for theme that suit your needs.

    2. That’s too bad and disappointing. With these themes, can you upload your own imagery like a header graphic, etc?

      1. Of course you can customize these themes. You don’t need to use any of the graphics you see on the theme demos.

  19. I must tell you that the Publisher theme from Templatic is not easy to customize, especially now that they have removed their forums. It used to be simple to find answers there. But since it has been removed and no archive was left behind, you have to email them for help with every little item. Takes too much time to get answers with time zone differences, then at least 4 or 5 tries to get it the way you want it. Not very conducive to efficiency. In hindsight, we would not purchase any theme from Templatic again nor would we recommend it.

  20. Hi,

We are a thriving well-positioned independent press of military and general history titles, BUT need a new updated web presence. We have an older (2003-04) pro designed site that has been through several coders, MySequel, Perl, etc. and the backend is a mess and now very expensive to maintain and add books and info the way we would like, and to design a similar site too expensive. And it is not mobile friendly.

Would one of the sites builders above work, can we use our own graphics, and keep our same URL?
    Thanks in advance.

    1. Themes are all about design and not graphics that you see on the theme demo. You can take these themes and use them on your site with your own graphics, products and other content.
However, keep in mind that migrating from a custom platfrom to WordPress is not going to be as simple as switching from one WordPress theme to another. There are no automated process to move all content from a completely custom platform to WordPress and I believe that is going to be the biggest pain for you.

  21. Memory Nkemjong says:

nice themes. For all developers here, I want an ecommerce wordpress or prestashop theme that will sell videos hosted on youtube, audios hosted on soundcloud (all with possibilities of preview), ebooks and hard cover books. Please any one with such template should contact me. Thanks much.

    1. Themes are all about the design and not about functionality. Look into plugins for this kind of purpose. And all ecommerce plugins can be used with above listed themes.

  22. Raddybook says:

Your themes are very good to me. I used your theme. My site provides an online booking.
