Anime is a website template for anime streaming sites, fan communities and review blogs, built on Bootstrap 5. It has a dark navy design with poster cards, a hero slider and a sidebar of top views and new comments. The layout is responsive and mobile-ready. There are nine pages: home, categories, anime details, anime watching, blog, blog post, login, sign up and contact.
The home page lists trending, popular, recently added and live-action shows, with a Day/Week/Month/Years filter on Top Views. The details page has a poster, synopsis, series facts, rating, reviews and a review form; the watching page has a video player with an episode list. You also get a category page with sorting and pagination, a blog grid and an article with share buttons and comments, login and sign-up forms and a contact page with a working contact form.
What’s new in 3.0
Bootstrap 5.3.8 (the earlier release used Bootstrap 4.4.1 and jQuery), compiled from Sass with the Bootstrap 4 proportions the design was drawn with, and plain JavaScript with no jQuery. Swiper 14 runs the hero slider, small built-in modules replace MixItUp, SlickNav and Nice Select, and the episode page uses the browser’s own video player.
Lighter pages: the home page went from 2.4 MB and 58 requests to 1.0 MB and 52 requests, and all pages together from 13.5 MB to 4.2 MB. Every image has an AVIF version with the JPEG or PNG as the fallback, real dimensions and lazy loading below the first screen, and the full-page preloader is gone.
No third-party requests: Mulish and Oswald are self-hosted, icons are Lucide SVGs with a 1 KB social-logo subset, and the old icon fonts are gone.
New artwork throughout: posters, banners, blog images and avatars are original illustrations drawn for the template at up to three times their display size, with fictional show titles and a short demo episode clip.
Working forms: the contact, comment and review forms send through an included PHP mailer with in-page messages and a spam trap; login and sign-up check their fields; the header search opens the blog.
Accessibility: skip link, one main heading per page, labelled fields and buttons, an accessible phone menu, keyboard access to the submenu, visible focus and WCAG AA text contrast.
Fixes: the three identical hero slides, the dead Contacts link (now a contact page), the near-invisible footer text and several typos.
