A work-history step for a made-up healthcare operations role, drawn as a vertical timeline of role cards. Each card asks for job title, employer, start and finish months, an I work here now box and optional responsibilities, and new cards come from a template element. A badge totals the roles and years of experience from the dates as they are entered.

It is plain HTML and CSS plus a few lines of vanilla JavaScript: no jQuery, no Bootstrap files, no plugins, and the download is 281 KB. Use it on its own, or drop it into a Bootstrap 4, 5 or 6 project and it looks the same.

• Add up to five roles from a template, with unique ids and names
• Focus moves to the new card; removing moves focus to a sensible neighbour
• Add and remove are announced in a polite live region
• Remove buttons named with the role number and title
• Finish date checked against start date; disabled while I work here now is ticked
• Live total of roles and years of experience
