Craft is a website template for creative and design agencies and freelancers, built on Bootstrap 5. The layout is responsive and mobile-ready and works in all popular web browsers. It comes with seven pages: home, about, services, portfolio, a project page, team and contact.
The home page has a full-screen hero with a parallax effect and a video button, a “who we are” block, a latest-work grid, featured services, a testimonial slider and a call to action. The inner pages add the studio story with three team members, four featured services and eight more, a portfolio of eight projects, a page for each project with client, role, year and results, a team page with six members, and a contact page with a working contact form and the studio’s details. Craft gives you a ready-made site to present an agency, its work and its people.
What’s new in 3.0
Bootstrap 5.3.8 (the earlier release used Bootstrap 4.1.1 and jQuery), compiled from Sass, and plain JavaScript with no jQuery. Swiper 14 replaces Owl Carousel on the testimonials, with 48 px arrow buttons, a built-in video dialog replaces Fancybox, Jarallax replaces Stellar on the hero, and a small built-in scroll reveal replaces Waypoints and animate.css. Lucide SVG icons and a small social-logo subset (the Twitter bird is now the X logo) replace four icon fonts. npm run build (Dart Sass and esbuild) compiles one minified stylesheet and one script.
Lighter pages: the home page went from 1.55 MB and 32 requests to 0.82 MB and 21 requests, all seven pages together from 8.9 MB to 4.6 MB, and the download from 2.1 MB to 1.9 MB even though it now includes the Sass source and build tools. Every photo has an AVIF version with the original as the fallback, real dimensions and lazy loading below the first screen, and the full-screen preloader that hid every page until it loaded is gone.
No third-party requests: Raleway is self-hosted, the icons are local, the video loads only after a click, and a Google Analytics 4 snippet stays commented out until you add your own ID. Before, every page loaded its web fonts from Google Fonts and an icon font from a CDN.
Working contact form: it sends through php/send-email.php, with a spam trap and success and error messages.
Accessibility: a skip link and a main landmark on every page, labelled controls and form fields, keyboard access to the menu, the Services dropdown and the video dialog, visible focus rings, reduced-motion support and WCAG AA text contrast, with a darker overlay on the hero, dark text on the teal band and buttons, and darker greys.
New pages and features: the Team page is now a real Craft team page with six members (it was a leftover page from another template, with broken links and a missing image), each of the eight projects has its own page with working Previous and Next links, and the header search filters the portfolio.
Fixed: every link goes to a real page (the Services menu items, Learn More, the footer quick links and the project buttons pointed nowhere), the pages no longer scroll sideways on phones and tablets, and the testimonial quotation marks face the right way. Named projects, services, team members and testimonials replace the placeholder text, the portfolio shows eight different projects instead of four photos twice, and photos showing brand logos and a well-known building are replaced with Unsplash photos without brands.
