Description

Travelo is a website template for travel agencies, tour operators and travel blogs, built on Bootstrap 5, with a clean, modern design. The layout is responsive and mobile-ready, with a sticky header and a search dialog on every page. There are eight pages: home, about, destinations, destination details, blog, blog post, contact and elements.

The home page has a hero slider, a trip search form, popular destinations, popular places, a video, services, testimonials and recent trips. The destinations page has filters with a price range above a grid of places, and the destination details page presents a seven-day tour with highlights, a photo gallery, an itinerary, a booking form and a price box. You will also find an about page with counters, a blog with a sidebar, a blog post with an author box, comments and a comment form, a contact page with a working contact form and a map that loads on click, and an elements page with typography, buttons, a gallery and form controls. Travelo gives you a ready-made site for a travel agency, a tour operator or a travel blog.

What’s new in 3.0

  • Bootstrap 5.3.8 and plain JavaScript with no jQuery, as in 2.x. Swiper 14 replaces Swiper 11 on the hero and testimonial sliders, PhotoSwipe 5 replaces GLightbox in the tour and elements galleries, the video opens in a built-in dialog, a keyboard-operable side panel replaces the mobile menu, a small built-in module replaces AOS, and Isotope and imagesLoaded, which loaded on every page with no grid to sort, are gone. Lucide SVG icons and a 1.9 KB social-logo subset replace the full Font Awesome 7.1 kit. npm run build (Dart Sass and esbuild) compiles one minified stylesheet and one script, and the download now includes the Sass source (the scss folder in the 2.x download was empty).
  • Lighter pages: the home page went from 10.6 MB and 51 requests to 1.3 MB and 44 requests, and the contact page from 3.2 MB and 48 requests to 603 KB and 20 requests. Every photo has an AVIF version with the JPEG or PNG as the fallback, real dimensions and lazy loading below the first screen, and the hero photo is preloaded. Photos saved as large PNGs are now JPEGs (the 3.4 MB hero photo is a 403 KB JPEG), and 221 WebP copies and 31 unused images are gone. The download went from 41.9 MB to 5.0 MB.
  • No third-party requests: Rubik and Nothing You Could Do are self-hosted, the contact map is an OpenStreetMap map (no API key needed) that loads only when a visitor clicks “Show map”, the video loads from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player only after a click, and a Google Analytics 4 snippet stays commented out until you add your own ID. Before, every page loaded its web fonts from Google Fonts, and the contact page loaded the Leaflet map library from unpkg and the map tiles as soon as it opened.
  • Working forms: the contact form, the trip booking form, the blog comment form and the newsletter forms send through php/send-email.php, with validation, a spam trap and an in-page message. Before, only the contact form had a mail handler; the booking, comment and sidebar forms posted to “#”, the booking fields had no names, and the newsletter bands were fields without a form, so nothing could be sent from them.
  • Accessibility: a skip link and a main landmark on every page, one h1 per page (no page had one), labelled form fields, names on icon-only links and buttons, visible focus rings, submenus that open from the keyboard, a mobile menu that keeps keyboard focus inside and closes with Esc, reduced-motion support and WCAG AA text contrast, with darker greys, navy text on the teal buttons and badges, a deeper red behind white button text, a darker orange for orange text, dark text on the bright sample buttons and a soft shade behind white text on photos.
  • Fixed: the mobile menu opened under its own overlay, so none of its links could be clicked, and its button sat on a second row under the logo (it now sits in the header row); the contact details, the post author box and the sidebar’s recent posts had lost their side-by-side layout, and the blog search button stood apart from its field (they sit side by side again); the price range had no labels, its two handles could swap places and both values sat in one text field (each handle is labelled now and shows its own value); the buttons on the elements page showed no arrows; and the footer year was fixed at 2032 (it now shows the current year).
  • Demo content: travel copy for every section instead of unrelated filler text, card titles and countries that match their photos, a tour page about Iceland throughout, fictional guides, travellers, address, phone and email, a stock video clip, and photos that showed an airline’s livery on a seaplane, a clothing brand, and brand logos on a phone and a van are replaced with Unsplash photos without brand markings (car badges in one banner are blurred).
