Oraxol is a dark, minimal website template for creative studios, designers and freelancers, built on Bootstrap 5. The layout is responsive and mobile-ready and works in all popular web browsers. It comes with six pages: home, work, about, blog, blog post and contact.
The home page has a large headline with featured work that opens in a lightbox, service cards, a portfolio grid, a testimonial slider, a team section and recent posts. The inner pages add a portfolio with a lightbox, studio numbers that count up as they scroll into view, a blog with a post page, comments and a comment form, and a contact page with a working contact form. The footer carries links, categories, contact details and social icons.
What’s new in 3.0
Bootstrap 5.3.8 (the earlier release used a Bootstrap 5.0 pre-release), compiled from Sass together with the theme, and plain JavaScript with no jQuery. Swiper 14 runs the testimonial slider, PhotoSwipe the lightbox and a small built-in module the scroll animations and counters. npm run build (Dart Sass and esbuild) compiles one minified stylesheet and one script.
Lighter pages: all seven pages together went from 49.2 MB and 212 requests to 7.0 MB and 121 requests. Every photo has an AVIF version with the JPEG as the fallback and real dimensions, and unused images and scripts are gone.
No third-party requests: Poppins is self-hosted, the icon fonts are replaced by Lucide SVG icons and a 1 KB social-logo subset (the Twitter bird is now the X logo), and a Google Analytics 4 snippet stays commented out until you add your own ID. Before, every page loaded fonts and icons from three CDNs and a Google Maps script that had no map to show.
Working forms: the contact form and the blog comment form send through php/send-email.php, with validation, a spam trap and an in-page message. Before, they had no action and no field names.
Accessibility: a skip link and a main landmark on every page, one h1 per page, names on icon and image links, visible focus rings, reduced-motion support and WCAG AA text contrast, including lighter footer text and readable text in the comment fields.
Fixed: the About menu item opened the blog, every featured-work thumbnail opened the same photo, the hero button pointed at a missing section, and the footer, blog and portfolio links pointed nowhere. The team and testimonial sections now show a different person on each card, with fictional names and contact details.
