Description

Comport is a job board and recruitment website template, built on Bootstrap 5. The layout is responsive and mobile-ready. There are ten pages: home, about, job category, job search, job page, pricing, blog, blog post, contact and elements.

The home page has a hero with a job search bar, featured job fields, job categories, recent jobs in tabs by type, a job-alert sign-up, a testimonial slider, the latest news and an app download band. The inner pages add a job list with a sidebar for job type, location and salary range, search results, a full job post with responsibilities, requirements, benefits and an apply button, three priced plans for employers, a career-advice blog with a post, comments and a comment form, and a contact page with a contact form and a map that loads on click. Comport gives you a ready-made site for a job board or a recruitment agency.

What’s new in 3.0

  • Bootstrap 5.3.8 (the earlier release used Bootstrap 4.1.3 and jQuery), compiled from Sass with only the parts the pages use, and plain JavaScript with no jQuery. Swiper 14 replaces Owl Carousel on the testimonial slider, styled native select menus replace Nice Select, two native range inputs replace the salary range slider plugin, the elements page gallery opens in a PhotoSwipe lightbox, and WOW.js and animate.css are gone. Icons are Lucide SVGs, and the social and app-store logos are a small Font Awesome subset (the Twitter bird is now the X logo). npm run build (Dart Sass and esbuild) compiles one minified stylesheet and one script.
  • Lighter pages: the home page went from 1.22 MB and 52 requests to 0.76 MB and 31 requests, and all ten pages together from 11.9 MB and 404 requests to 4.4 MB and 270 requests. Every photo has an AVIF version with the original as the fallback, real dimensions and lazy loading below the fold, the hero photo is preloaded, and the full-screen preloader that hid each page until it had loaded is gone. The download went from 3.22 MB to 2.76 MB.
  • No third-party requests: Poppins and Open Sans are self-hosted, the old icon fonts are replaced by inline SVG icons, the contact page map is an OpenStreetMap map that loads only when a visitor clicks “Show map”, and a Google Analytics 4 snippet stays commented out until you add your own ID. Before, every page loaded its web fonts from Google Fonts, and the contact page loaded a third-party maps script.
  • Working forms: the contact form, the blog comment form, the job-alert sign-ups and the elements page form send through php/send-email.php (PHP on your host), with a spam trap and success and error messages on the page, and the job and blog search bars open the job search and blog pages.
  • Accessibility: a skip link, a main landmark and one h1 per page, labelled controls and form fields, visible focus, a real menu button, Blog and Pages sub-menus that open on click, Enter and keyboard focus as well as hover (and open in place on phones), job tabs that work with the arrow keys, and WCAG AA text contrast, with dark labels on the orange buttons, darker orange and grey text, and a darker blog top bar and job badges.
  • Fixed: the testimonial slider dots were invisible, and they now show with 44 px touch targets; the job page described a different job than its heading; the salary filter on the job pages was an empty box, and it is now a two-handle range that works with the mouse, touch and keyboard; select text sat low in its box on phones; header, apply, job filter, footer, blog, tag and pricing links that pointed nowhere or to a missing blog page now open real pages; and testimonial and team photos are no longer stretched.
  • Demo content that fits a job board: job posts with locations, fields and deadlines, a complete job description with an apply button, priced employer plans, career-advice blog posts, team roles and testimonials, fictional company wordmarks on the job cards, and a sharper home hero photo. Typos and off-topic filler text are corrected or replaced.
