A bright, playful 404 page where the zero is a face whose googly eyes follow the pointer and, for keyboard users, whatever has focus. Below it is a small game: the page is hiding under one of six boxes and the visitor has three tries to find it, with every guess announced in a status line. Win or lose, a Take me home button appears, and Play again reshuffles the boxes.

It is plain HTML and CSS plus a few lines of vanilla JavaScript: no jQuery, no Bootstrap files, no plugins, and the download is 325 KB. Use it on its own, or drop it into a Bootstrap 4, 5 or 6 project and it looks the same.

• Eyes track the pointer and keyboard focus, so the toy works without a mouse
• Game boxes are real buttons with descriptive labels that update when opened
• Guesses and results announced through role="status"
• Face reacts with sad and happy mouths, blinks only when motion is allowed
• Home link in the header and a skip-the-game link in the intro
