Description

Real Estate is a website template for real estate agents and agencies, built on Bootstrap 5, with a pink-to-yellow accent. The layout is responsive and mobile-ready and works in all popular web browsers. There are three pages: home, generic and elements.

The home page has a full-screen hero with a property search, a “Why we are the best” services section, six property listings, four district tiles, an about block, contact details with a map and a contact form, and the header stays at the top as you scroll. The footer has a newsletter form and a photo feed. The generic page is an inner page with the districts and long-form text, and the elements page shows typography, buttons, lists, a table with progress bars, an image gallery and form controls. The property search works in the browser, so Real Estate gives you a ready-made front end for an agency site.

What’s new in 3.0

  • Bootstrap 5.3.8 (the earlier release used a Bootstrap 4 beta and jQuery), compiled from Sass together with the theme and the Bootstrap 4 proportions the design was drawn with, and plain JavaScript with no jQuery. Native range inputs drawn like the old sliders replace ion.rangeSlider, native selects replace Nice Select, PhotoSwipe 5 replaces Magnific Popup on the elements gallery, a fixed header in CSS replaces the sticky plugin, and Lucide SVG icons replace the Linearicons and Font Awesome 4.7 icon fonts. npm run build (Dart Sass and esbuild) compiles one minified stylesheet and one script.
  • Lighter pages: the home page went from 3,525 KB and 59 requests to 989 KB and 33 requests, the elements page from 1,949 KB to 577 KB and the generic page from 1,680 KB to 442 KB. Every photo has an AVIF version with the JPEG or PNG as the fallback, real dimensions and lazy loading below the first screen, the hero photo is preloaded, and jQuery UI and the unused carousel and parallax plugins are gone. The download is 3.18 MB (it was 3.74 MB) and includes the Sass sources and the build tools.
  • No third-party requests: Poppins is self-hosted, the social logos are a small Font Awesome subset (the Twitter bird is now the X logo), and a Google Analytics 4 snippet stays commented out until you add your own ID. The contact map is an OpenStreetMap map that needs no setup and loads only when a visitor clicks “Show map”. Before, every page loaded its fonts from Google Fonts and scripts from two outside CDNs, and the home and generic pages loaded the Google Maps script on every visit.
  • A property search that works: the Sale/Rent switch, location, property type, bedrooms, bathrooms, price and area filter six distinct listings, with a result line and a “Show all properties” button, and the price range follows the switch (up to $2M for sale, up to $5,000 a month for rent). The district tiles open the search for their district, and a listing title fills in a viewing request in the contact form. Before, the search form went nowhere, the range sliders did not filter, a second “Bedrooms” box stood where Bathrooms belonged, and the three listings were identical “04 Bed Duplex $3.5M” cards.
  • Working forms: the contact form and the footer newsletter form send through php/send-email.php and php/subscribe.php, with a placeholder recipient you set, no visitor input in the mail headers, a spam trap and an in-page message. Before, the contact form posted to a script that mailed an outside address and the newsletter form posted to a third-party list.
  • Accessibility: a skip link and a main landmark on every page, one h1 per page (the home page had three, the generic page none), a Sale/Rent switch that works from the keyboard, labelled form fields and selects, names on icon-only links, visible focus rings, reduced-motion support and WCAG AA text contrast. The pink-to-yellow brand gradient keeps its colours with black text on it (white was 1.5 to 4.1:1), and the buttons, the Sale/Rent switch and the For Sale / For Rent tags keep white labels on a deeper pink-to-orange gradient.
  • Fixed: a stray “=” no longer shows as a line of text above the hero; the generic page’s two missing images and an invisible duplicate banner are fixed, and so are the broken favicon link and the typos; every page has its own title and description (each was “Real Estate”); and the top bar, social icons and elements demo buttons link somewhere instead of #.
