Bizcon is a business consulting website template, built on Bootstrap 5. It has a clean, responsive layout with a sticky header, a drop-down menu, an intro video, a customer reviews slider and a project gallery. There are nine pages: home, about, services, projects, project details, blog, a single blog post, contact and an elements page with buttons, typography, a table, a lightbox gallery, lists and form controls.
The home page brings together a hero with an intro video, an about block, service cards, customer reviews, a project gallery and the latest blog posts. The blog has a search box, categories, recent posts and tags, and the article page adds an author box, comments and a comment form. The contact page has a working contact form and a map that loads on click. Bizcon gives consultants and advisers a ready-made site to show their services and projects.
What’s new in 3.0
Bootstrap 5.3.8 (the earlier release used Bootstrap 4.3.1 and jQuery 1.12), compiled from Sass together with the theme and the Bootstrap 4 proportions the design was drawn with, and plain JavaScript with no jQuery. Swiper 14 runs the customer reviews slider and PhotoSwipe the gallery, while Owl Carousel, Slick, Magnific Popup, Nice Select, Masonry and the other plugins are gone. npm run build (Dart Sass and esbuild) compiles one minified stylesheet and one script.
Lighter pages: the home page went from 4.8 MB and 53 requests to 1.1 MB and 48 requests, and the nine pages together from 28.1 MB to 6.7 MB. Every photo has an AVIF version with a JPEG fallback, real dimensions and lazy loading below the first screen, and the decorative shapes are small SVG files.
No third-party requests: Poppins, Roboto and Martel are self-hosted, the Themify and Flaticon icon fonts are replaced by Lucide SVG icons and a small social-logo subset, and the Google Maps script is gone. The contact map is an OpenStreetMap map (no API key needed) that loads only when a visitor clicks “Show map”, the intro video loads from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player after a click, and a Google Analytics 4 snippet stays commented out until you add your own ID.
Working forms: the contact form, the blog comment form and the newsletter forms send through php/send-email.php and php/subscribe.php, with validation, a spam trap and an in-page message. Before, the newsletter form pointed at a Mailchimp account and the contact mailer was not set up for your address.
Accessibility: a skip link and a main landmark on every page, one h1 per page, labelled form controls, names on image and icon links, a menu that opens from the keyboard, visible focus rings, reduced-motion support and WCAG AA text contrast, with a darker orange for buttons and orange text, darker greys and darker status colours on the elements page.
Demo content: new consulting copy for every page, fictional names, address and phone number, new photos for every section, initials avatars for comments, and working menu, footer and blog links.
