Built on the Solid Unyson Framework
The Core is built on the Unyson WordPress framework. Unyson is a well-regarded, free drag-and-drop theme framework from that’s been created by the same team as The Core. Rather than simply choosing an off the shelf framework or page builder tool, such as Visual Composer, for example, the ThemeFuse team used their own platform, which they built from the ground up. This should give you a good indication of how well coded and constructed the rest of The Core theme is.
Thanks to Unyson, The Core also features slideshow tools, mega menus, sidebar customization, contact forms, and more. As the Unyson framework is freely available from the WordPress Plugin Directory, you can see just how popular it is for yourself.
Drag-and-Drop Page Builder Tool
As mentioned, The Core is built on the Unyson theme framework. One benefit of this is that your website will have an integrated drag-and-drop page builder tool if you choose The Core. We’ll test out the page builder in the user experience section of our The Core theme review.
As well as providing you with a drag-and-drop user interface for creating your custom content designs, Unyson also includes a useful set of content elements. These content elements can be inserted into your designs, giving you a quick way to upgrade your posts and pages.
WordPress Website Backup Tools
Backing up your website is essential. Therefore, is a good to see that The Core has a built in WordPress website backup tool. Not only will this feature keep your site safe and secure, but it will also save you installing an additional plugin or paying for an extra third-party service.

About The Core Theme Author
The Core has been created by the ThemeFuse team. ThemeFuse has created an impressive selection of WordPress themes over the years. However, The Core is the highlight from their portfolio. As well as selling many copies of their themes at the ThemeForest marketplace, they’ve also collected a reassuring amount of positive reviews, feedback, and testimonials from their customers.
Unlike some other theme developers, you can find lots of useful information on the ThemeFuse website. This includes detailed product information and all the support and documentation you’ll need to make the most of The Core.
The Core WordPress Theme User Experience
The Core attempts to make it as easy as possible to create a professional website with WordPress. After trying it out for this The Core theme review, it’s fair to say ThemeFuse has been successful. Let’s find out more in the user experience section of this The Core theme review.
Getting Started with The Core
After uploading the theme files and activating The Core on your WordPress website, you’re given the option of enabling the bundled plugins and importing the demo content. The Auto Setup screen that displays these options is presented as soon as you activate The Core, making it very easy to know what to do next. Not a lot of WordPress themes do this, so it’s good to see it in action.
At this point, you’ve probably chosen The Core for one of its impressive website demos. Therefore, selecting the Plugins & Demo Content import option from the Auto Setup screen is the next logical step in building your new WordPress website.
After the plugins have been enabled, from the next screen, you can choose which demo to import into your website. From this screen, you can preview any of the demos at the touch of a button. This should help you to decide which one is the best choice for your project.
It only took a minute or two to import the demo content. However, during that time, a progress bar was displayed to let you know that the process was still running.
Setting up Your New WordPress Website
After importing the demo content, your new WordPress website should be taking shape. Now it’s time to check out the customization options and settings to help you personalize your site.
One option is to open up the WordPress Customizer tool. While some themes let you modify many aspects of your website through the Customizer, this isn’t the case with The Core. Through the Customizer, you can change the site title and set up the site widgets and menus. However, most of the site customization work is carried out through the Theme Settings panel in your WordPress dashboard area.
Changing the site colors, typography settings, header and footer configurations, and general site options takes place through the Theme Settings panel. Here you can access the detailed controls that let you personalize The Core theme and your site.
These settings are easy to access and understand, making creating a custom WordPress website with The Core relatively straightforward.
Working with Unyson
As mentioned earlier, The Core is built on the Unyson framework, also from ThemeFuse. Once you’ve chosen The Core for your site, you can start working with Unyson. Through your Unyson dashboard, you can choose which extensions to enable. By default, most of them are enabled with The Core.
From the Unyson dashboard, you can also click through to its different features and tools. This includes the website backup tool, the sliders, the events manager, the mega menus, and more.
If you’ve imported the demo content, then you should be able to view the sample sliders, events, and other content on your site.
Using the Page Builder Tool
The drag-and-drop page builder tool is one of the best features of The Core. Therefore, it’s important to explore how it works. The quickest way to check out the page builder is to open one of the imported demo content pages.
When viewing a page in the WordPress editor, you’ll see a button that allows you to switch to the Visual Page Builder view. After clicking on the button, the interface will change to the drag-and-drop page builder mode.
Now you can add new layout elements to your pages to construct rows and columns into your desired layout. You can then drag and drop the various content elements into your layout. Some examples of the content elements include tabs, buttons, maps, portfolio items, testimonials, and more.
Once you’ve added a content element to your page layout, you can then begin editing it. Depending on the module, this could include modifying the colors, size, layout, and other settings.
You can also add media elements to your page layouts with The Core and Unyson. These options include adding single images, galleries, sliders, slideshows, videos, and more. Again, each media element item can be dragged and dropped into place, before being customized for your page. With Unyson and The Core, you can also add premade sections to your pages. We covered these earlier in this The Core theme review, but to recap, they make it easy to create custom pages by adding prebuilt page sections.
As with the other elements, the premade sections can be easily customized once they’ve been added to your page. As you can see the page builder tool of The Core is a powerful feature that can help you take your website to the next level.
The Core WordPress Theme Pricing Options
The Core is available from the ThemeForest marketplace for $49. This price includes the 20 website demos and any of the premium plugins in the package. You also get access to six months of support from ThemeFuse if you purchase The Core from ThemeForest. This period can be extended to 12 months by paying an additional $13.88.
ThemeFuse also offers all 45 of their themes together in one package for one low price. This means that for just $79, you can get access to all ThemeFuse WordPress themes for use on unlimited websites for not much more than you would pay for a single theme elsewhere.
The Core Theme Review Final Thoughts
The Core is a highly functional and stylish WordPress theme. If any of the 20 demos match your project, then you should have no trouble building a professional website with WordPress and The Core.
If there isn’t yet a demo that’s right for you, the drag-and-drop page builder tool and theme customization settings could still make The Core a good choice for your website.
With a full feature list and varied set of prebuilt designs, The Core is the all-in-one WordPress theme that should be at the top of your shopping list.
