    .single-jetpack-portfolio aside#secondary {
      display: none;
    }

    Noda, the code you gave me worked, but there is a red “x” on the second line and a red squiggle underlining the “d” in “display” ?????

    It says “Expected COLON at line 35, col 5.”

    Hi Andy,
    Shapely user here. I’ve spent a ton of time and trials to get video on my front page. What I found a few weeks ago (Mar 2018) was that the Shapely video widget worked, but ran in a continuous loop. Support told me that the continuous loop couldn’t be stopped.

    There was another video widget in the choices offered in “Customize.” That one worked with a youtube video and will run one time and quit. What I don’t remember is if it took youtube’s “share” video short code or the long URL, or if it actually took my resident .mp4 file. The video is full width and looks like another parallax.

    I worked on the video solution for several weeks. The best plug-in I found was Robosoft.co Robo Gallery PRO. While I still haven’t gotten small videos on the front page, it makes awesome galleries easily and will do all images, all videos, or a mix in the same gallery. There are a few tricks with the plug-in to get VIDEOS in a gallery:
    1) you have to use an IMAGE you load into the Robo gallery media file. In the image gallery, select your image. On the right there is a place for captions and below that still on the right is a box to add the youtube or Vimeo link. IT WILL NOT WORK with a VIDEO FILE resident in your media library. Has to come from youtube or video.

    2) You must use the long URL from the top of the page, NOT the “share” short code. (Trial and error. Not obvious in documentation)

    This will generate a Robo gallery code that you can insert into widgets, pages, and posts and is pretty awesome once you finally figure it out. The free version is only good for 3 galleries. The PRO version for one website is cheap with unlimited galleries for one website. Here is the site. https://wptools.co/robogallery/

    The cool thing is you can make a “gallery” from one image/video link, so you can post one video only in your text.

    Not affiliated with them at all; just spent a ton of time going through the widgets, support forums, plug-ins, trial and error experiments and wish someone had left me this trail a month ago.

    Just sharing because the search for how to do video on Shapely front page has been intense and long. This is the best (and virtually only) option I’ve found other than that widget listed above that made an entire parallax size video.

    Good luck with your site. I’ll be watching for other solutions and suggestions offered to you. I haven’t been able to find how to put a video in one of the small left or right image boxes in the parallaxes (and I’ve tried). I did get a video in each of the four footer widget boxes, but they were so small and the text so large it was ridiculous.

    Figured a work-around for the second question above: “(2). On the above page the feature image is justified left and I’d like it centered or right & left justified to the margins.” by deleting the feature image and putting an unaligned image in the text.

    If there is a way to center the feature images I’d still like to know. Thanks!

    fluzzo! Thank you so much. The text in the body of the widget turned white for me. The title turned white, but it won’t take the size and now it’s the same size at the text. This portion of the code keeps evaporating when I put it in the Title field. (font-size:30px). The font size code also evaporated in the text box BUT at least the color changed.
    Like you, I’ve spent hours and days on this…

    I’m against a deadline now. Will have to come back to it once it’s published.
    Thanks for keeping it simple and letting me know it’s possible. I do want that effect eventually.

    Thanks for the clue. Using Safari 11.0.3 on my Mac. Looked through the developer tools and found css style sheets, but never found anything that indicated I was in a widget.

    Tried dropping the code you gave us above for the parallax # I was working with, but it didn’t work either.

    Thanks anyway. Appreciate your time.

    I want to do that too for some parallax sections on the front page. I’d like to use a dark colored background, but need to change the title and text to white – just in that parallax. I’d also like to know how to change text color for posts on pages with a darker background.

    Thanks!

    Hi Noda,
    I used the CSS y’all provided for someone else whose photos in the top position were out of alignment.

    This is what I used that worked:
    #shapely_home_parallax-5 .img-responsive {
    margin: 0 auto;
    }
    This is what I’d added to fix the mobile alignment of the portfolio pictures and what threw the other photo in parallax off-center:
    /*portfolio on mobile*/
    @media (max-width: 550px){
    .col-md-3.col-sm-6.project.fadeIn.masonry-item.masonry-brick {
    width: 100%;

    I also had to put the parallax-5 css ABOVE the portfolio css to make it all work.

    Thanks for your help! This issue is resolved. I hope you’re having a good day.

    Please consider adding the ability to post a video in the parralax section box instead of images only. I’d love to be able to have text on the right or left, and have the small video on the opposite side.

    Not every video needs to be full screen width.

    Love the theme. Thanks for the awesome support, too.

    Greetings Noda

    It turns out that once I publish it takes a little time for the page to reload but everything eventually re-sorts itself just fine. Sometimes I have to close the customizer after publishing to get the whole page to settle in correctly, but hit does eventually. What was happening was the parallax section below the one I just changed would disappear, or half the background photo would disappear. It’s all good now… just have to wait for it to settle down.

    My site still isn’t public, but it’s come a long way! Thank you.

    You can call this “resolved”! ; D

    AWESOME. Thanks for the CSS. Worked for me, too, and was just the solution I was looking for! Hope you’re having a good day.
